Hydropower project

JUMDI KHOLA SMALL HYDROPOWER PROJECT

We are providing project management and construction supervision services to Jumdi Hydropower Limited, for developing Jumdi Khola Small Hydropower Project in Hasara VDC in the district of Gulmi. This project, of capacity 1.75MW, has been promoted by our sister organization MEH Infrastructure Developers Private Limited. Construction work is ongoing and the entire project is expected to be completed by the end of this year.

FEED IN TARIFF AND NET ENERGY METERING

We are working together with the Alternative Energy Promotion Center (AEPC) of the Government of Nepal, to come up with a policy recommendation for the interconnection of micro hydro power plants to the national grid. We are also in the process of calculating a Feed-in-Tariff that would be suitable for such connections. Additionally, we are investigating the use of Net Energy Metering principles for the connection of renewable energy sources, mainly solar PVs, to the national grid.

REHABILITATION OF NEA OWNED MINI HYDRO PLANTS

We are providing consulting services to the Alternative Energy Promotion Center (AEPC) of the Government of Nepal, to assess the condition of two Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) owned mini hydro plants in the country (Taplejung, and Achham). After assessment, we are in the process of providing recommendations for its rehabilitation – fix the current problems, upgrade the plant, or interconnect with other plants. After the assessment, we will provide a detailed cost estimate of the project
